Let’s put Mums back in the picture this Mother’s Day 2014

As a mum sometimes I look back on a lovely weekend’s photos and wonder to myself “Was I even there?!” I am not in a single shot. Or rather, I am in one, which is so bad it’s quickly deleted.  As the main photographers, Mums often get left out of the picture and at Lifecake we’d like to change that.

In the run up to Mother’s Day 2014, we want to put mums back in the picture. We are encouraging mums to take a selfie with their little ones. Post it to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtags #Melfie #lifecake or to your facebook page and tag lifecake in the photo so we can see it.

What’s a melfie? It’s a Mum-selfie.

Hold on, what’s a selfie? A photo taken by you of yourself using the nifty reverse camera on your phone.

Win a photo book!

And to add a little spice, we have persuaded Katie from Mummy, Daddy and Me Makes Three to judge the best selfies for a chance to win a hard bound Lifecake photobook worth £60. Winners will be announced on Mothers’ Day Sunday March 30th 2014.

Please help spread the word and get every Mum you know back into the picture.

Here’s a Tweet you can post along with your selfie, if you like. We can’t wait to see you all!
